About the play

Love is Never Wasted is a play about love, friendship, grief, duty and belief.

Plot Summary

It's after Jar's shift, but Jar has decided to hang around and share their half pickle sandwich and chat with Doll. Doll has just taken over the shift on the Level, both their job is to to vent the pressure on the water pipes; thankfully there is only a lone Runner around to deal with (or ignore) and the pipes seem don't seem to be a problem.

However, Doll opens up about a recent bereavement and then the pipes start to play up, Doll, now in a strange mood may now not want to carry out their duties. Jar has to decide whether to start their holiday or make sure Doll doesn't explode the pipes and kill them all and the Runner now seems to have taken a hold over Doll. Will the Runner take over Doll? Will the pipes explode and lose the last of the water left in the world? Will Doll stay with the Runner and give up their life, or leave with Jar and stick by their duty and stick to their path?
